Martin Duchateau has always been passionate about the hospitality industry. After graduating at the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, in 2002, he started his career with Conrad International in Brussels (Hilton Hotels Corporation). Martin stayed 5 years with Conrad, first in Brussels and then moved to Dublin where he was in charge of the revenue management for 2 hotels. In the same time, he was appointed to specific missions in Asia for Conrad to implement the tech stack and deliver strategic solutions to openings’ hotels.
Martin then moved to Berlin and worked for the headquarters of Design hotels AG. He was in charge of 70 hotels. His job was to help the members to optimize their overall revenue and to strengthen their collaboration with Design Hotels.
After 10 years abroad, Martin came back to Brussels, his hometown, to work for Radisson Blu as Director of Revenue Management. Two years later in 2012, Martin decided to open his own hotel, the Made in Louise, a boutique hotel of 50 rooms. On the side, he is also doing consultancy and is a lecturer in two hospitality schools in Belgium. Martin will as well open a second hotel in 2022 in the city center of Brussels.
